MY NAME IS

[she/her/they]

Dimitria

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist based in Midtown Toronto, with a background rooted in community and nonprofit mental health. My work is grounded in deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit and a passion for creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported.

Over the years, I’ve supported individuals navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship struggles, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. I’ve also had the privilege of working with at-risk youth, perinatal clients, and survivors of domestic violence. These experiences continue to shape the way I show up — with empathy, humility, and trust in your ability to heal and grow.

I also bring lived experience to my work. I've faced my own struggles with anxiety, depression, grief, and disconnection. The process of healing, reconnecting with myself, and learning how to regulate my emotions and strengthen my relationships has had a profound impact on my life. I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t belong or aren’t fully understood, and I’m here to help you build a deeper, more peaceful relationship with yourself.

Outside the therapy space, I’m an introvert at heart who thrives in meaningful connection. I love animals (especially my dog), travelling to experience diverse landscapes and cultures, trying new foods, and reading (mostly romance and fantasy) to engage my imagination and unwind. I’m drawn to spaces and people that feel calm, creative, and like me.

I bring a relational, person-centred presence to therapy. This means I show up authentically with empathy and nonjudgment, and prioritize creating a space where you feel safe to be yourself. I believe that healing is most effective when it is based in connection and honours your unique experiences, strengths, and values.

Our work will be collaborative and flexible. I’ll support you in deepening your self-understanding, strengthening emotional resilience, and navigating challenges with more clarity and self-compassion. Along the way, I’ll offer psychoeducation and introduce relevant techniques to support your goals and growth.

Depending on your needs, I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities, including Internal Family Systems (parts work), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness-based somatic practices, motivational interviewing, and compassion-focused approaches.

Ultimately, this is your space and you're the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself, align with your values, and move toward the life you want to live.

"The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.”
